@sohoplace is the first new build West End theatre to open in 50 years. We have designed a 600-seat auditorium along with theatre consultants Charcoalblue in collaboration with acoustic engineers Arup. Embedded at the heart of the new building, the auditorium continues the theatre’s inky blue and deep golden timber material palette into seating and balcony fronts and continues the theatre’s ‘starlit sky’ design into the house lighting. An innovative modular system of seating and balconies enables fast turnarounds between seemingly permanent formats.
