Haworth Tompkins are masterplanning a £300 million development at the 25-acre Albert Island site, located in the Royal Docks to the east of City Airport. Working with London And Regional Properties, we will be designing the new shipyard for the scheme, which also includes new industrial units, a restoration and upgrade of the marina, and the creation of a Transport and Engineering Education Hub. Writing in the Evening Standard, Robert Bevan has said “Albert Island should be a welcome boost to those fighting to protect what’s left of industrial land in London”.
