This week is National Mental Health Awareness Week, and our team of Mental Health First Aiders (MHFA) have organised a series of sessions concentrated on this year's theme, which is Loneliness. These include mindfulness meditation, office walks at lunchtime, social tea breaks, and a CPD from the Architects Benevolent Society on the support they can offer. We have six MHFAs Romy Romagnoli, Jonnie Rees, Aisling Jarrett-Gavin, Siân Hodgson, Jess Daly and Patrick Quinn, all of whom have received training on how they can provide guidance and support. Haworth Tompkins also has an Employee Assistance Programme, which amongst other things offers all staff access to funded counselling, and legal and medical advice for issues that cause anxiety or distress.
Haworth Tompkins picked up three awards at last night’s BD Architect of the Year Awards ceremony including the coveted Gold Award for the 'best of the best', as well as winning Best Architect Employer of the Year, and Higher Education Architect of the Year.
