HT is collaborating with Troubadour Theatres on two innovative, fully demountable theatre projects, designed for an 8–10 year lifespan, in Canary Wharf and Greenwich.
The first, located in Canary Wharf, is already on site and set to open this October with the world premiere of The Hunger Games: On Stage, written by Conor McPherson and directed by Matthew Dunster. With a capacity of 1,300 seats, this venue will bring a major new cultural destination to the heart of Canary Wharf, offering world-class live performance alongside an exciting food and beverage offering.
Meanwhile, the Troubadour Greenwich Peninsula Theatre is due to be submitted for planning in October and is scheduled to open in Autumn 2026. Envisioned as a future flagship venue, it will feature two 1,500-seat auditoriums, purpose-built as receiving houses to host large-scale, dynamic productions. Equipped with state-of-the-art technical facilities and modern front-of-house spaces, the theatre will provide a flexible, vibrant home for groundbreaking productions and international live entertainment.
Both venues are designed to deliver:
- Landmark cultural hubs on land awaiting permanent development
- A circular, sustainable approach to construction and materials
- Purpose-built, fully demountable structures and cladding systems
- Flexible, soundproofed, and technically advanced infrastructure
