Multiple shortlists for HT projects at the AJ Architecture & NLA Awards 21.08.26

Five Haworth Tompkins projects have secured six shortlist places across the 2026 AJ Architecture Awards and NLA Awards. The recognition reflects the breadth of our expertise across culture, housing, regeneration and masterplanning - from the sensitive transformation of listed cultural buildings to major residential developments and urban masterplans.

At the AJ Architecture Awards, Backstage at The Old Vic is shortlisted in the Cultural Project (up to £20 million) category, Theatr Clwyd in Cultural Project (£20 million and over), and Wembley North East Lands (Luna and Solar) in Housing Project (£20 million and over). Backstage at The Old Vic has also been shortlisted in the Culture category at the NLA Awards, while 980 Great West Road and Aylesbury Estate Regeneration, Phase 2B, led by Maccreanor Lavington, are both shortlisted in the Neighbourhoods & Masterplans category.

Together, the projects are united by a shared commitment to thoughtful design, sustainability and long-term social value. They encompass the sensitive renewal of important cultural institutions, the delivery of 769 new homes and a major new public park at Wembley, and large-scale regeneration and masterplanning work in Brentford and Southwark.

Thank you to our clients, collaborators and project teams, and congratulations to everyone shortlisted. The NLA Awards winners will be announced on 19 November 2026, followed by the AJ Architecture Awards on 26 November 2026.
