James Walker

James joined Haworth Tompkins in March 2016 becoming an associate in 2022. He has contributed to numerous housing projects, combining strong design skills with detailed technical delivery expertise. He has a particular interest in Modern Methods of Construction and is an advanced Revit user. With over a decade of experience, James has worked across the education, cultural, conservation and residential sectors. Prior to joining the practice, he worked on major commercial, education and healthcare projects in the UK and overseas.

At Haworth Tompkins, James was project architect for the extension and renovation of seven Grade II and II* listed Georgian townhouses at RAM Brewery and led the conversion of a Grade II* listed building for Legal & General into retirement housing. He led the façade design and delivery for a 700-home mixed-use scheme at Wembley, and the design of a key building in Phase 3 of Fish Island Village, a major brownfield regeneration project in Hackney Wick. James has tutored and lectured at the London School of Architecture and Cambridge School of Architecture.
