Matthieu Mereau

Since joining Haworth Tompkins in 2021, Matthieu has been actively involved in the studio’s performing arts projects. Prior to joining the practice, he worked on a wide range of cultural, education, masterplanning and large commercial projects at WilkinsonEyre and Bennetts Associates, several of which involved listed historic buildings. Matthieu studied at Victoria University of Wellington and the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Art. He graduated in New Zealand with Distinction for a Masters thesis exploring the relationship between media and meaning in architecture, examining the work of influential Modernist architects under the lens of contemporary art theory. He completed his professional registration in the UK at the University of Westminster, and is an invited critic at the Bartlett School of Architecture.
