James joined Haworth Tompkins in 2021 and has since been actively involved in the studio's residential, cultural, industrial and masterplanning projects. He gained his Part I from the University of Bath, spending a semester as an Erasmus student at the Technische Universität München, and worked on housing and conservation projects in parallel with his studies. he continued this mode of practice as he completed his Part II at the London School of Architecture, where he graduated with Distinction whilst working part-time at Haworth Tompkins. James' thesis project investigated the importance of maintenance and care within our built environment, exploring radical modes of retaining and supporting our existing non-listed structures in the face of the climate crisis.
