Earls Court, 2030

New, mixed-use vision for Earls Court

Earls Court by Haworth Tompkins

Haworth Tompkins has been working with The Earls Court Development Company (ECDC), alongside masterplanners Hawkins Brown and Studio Egret West, and plot architects Maccreanor Lavington, Acme, dRMM, Serie, and Sheppard Robson to shape the future of the iconic Earls Court site.

We have developed proposals for EC04 in Phase 1, illustrative designs for the Warwick Crescent Character Area (EC17 & EC18), and a residential scheme for a swing plot within the West Brompton Character Area (EC03).

Located in the heart of the site and overlooking the table park, Plot EC04, forms part of Phase 1 and houses senior living homes and amenity, a significant cultural offer, and F&B commercial units.

EC04 is the centrepiece to a new impressive entrance to the masterplan, reinterpreting the historic approach from Earl’s Court Station.

Activating a key south-facing frontage to the Table Park, EC04 mediates between the levels of masterplan’s central public open space to the south, and the more residential Warwick Crescent area to the north. The massing of the taller elements allows daylight through to the existing properties on Philbeach Gardens and the proposed homes along Warwick Lane.

The modulated massing of the two residential towers enable generous light-filled dual and triple aspect homes which enjoy views over the park or back towards the city. The podium houses a shared entrance to the senior living offer and related amenities including a wellness centre, treatment rooms, gym, screening room, bar and lounge areas, a courtyard garden, and podium terrace which overlooks the Table Park.

The flexible music venue, with a capacity of 400 seated or 750 standing, is one of several cultural spaces located alongside key public spaces within the masterplan and will help foster an ecosystem for the future of talent in West London and beyond.

Alongside designs for EC04, illustrative designs have been developed for the Warwick and West Brompton character areas.

Warwick Crescent is a quiet and contemporary residential area centred around a landscaped crescent that prioritises pedestrians and responds to the local character within Kensington and Chelsea. EC17 and EC18 have been carefully developed to provide a sensitive edge to homes to the north.

The residential scheme for EC03 faces the Table Park and is located within the West Brompton character area - a lively quarter connecting Earl’s Court station to West Brompton station. West Brompton is anchored by a leafy crescent lined with shops, cafés and restaurants. The design for EC03 is a contemporary interpretation of the grand red brick mansion blocks within the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea.
