Central Middlesex Hospital, 2024

affordable housing scheme in west London

This residential project for Network Homes lies in the middle of the Old Oak Park Royal development, north of Central Middlesex Hospital. Comprising of 158 new affordable homes (shared ownership and London Affordable Rent) the four buildings are arranged around a communal courtyard.

Flexible workplace and community spaces will be housed within the Old Refectory, a 1908 remnant of the original workhouse. Deck access is proposed for three of the residential buildings in an expressed cross-braced steel structure while the fourth building is taller and central core-accessed. The green courtyard will provide a sheltered space for relaxation, play and community.

Planning permission was received in July 2020 with anticipated start on site in 2022 and completion in 2024.
