Network Wembley, 2021

156 new build apartments, on three plots that form part of a wider masterplan

Working with Network Homes and land developer Quintain, Haworth Tompkins are developing a new 156 unit affordable housing scheme in Wembley, which will form a gateway element in one of Europe’s largest regeneration projects: Wembley Park. Network Homes have a commitment to high quality architecture which prioritises longevity, an approach that ultimately provides maximum value to both their residents and themselves; it is for this reason that Haworth Tompkins are excited to be working on achieving this vision with them.

Situated in Wembley, the site has a history as one of Metro-land’s epitomic centres; a progressive modern suburb which gave Londoners the option of a new urban lifestyle in the country. Research into this contextual architecture revealed an art deco aesthetic that gave character to this new form of urban living. The team at Haworth Tompkins were inspired to drive their contemporary design from this historical foundation, with the aim of giving their new development an authentic character that would give residents a strong sense of place and a valued connection to where they live.
