Meeting House Lane

Haworth Tompkins have been appointed by Southwark Council to design 32 new social rented homes, ranging from one-bedroom apartments to three-bedroom family homes, and a new community space. The triangular site, which currently consists of a disused neighbourhood office, is bound by Meeting House Lane to the west and the Pinedene and Hollydene estate buildings to the south and east accordingly. The design is influenced by traditional London brick terraces, with a formal character, regular facade rhythm, individual front doors and a simple material palette. The homes at ground floor will have a generous garden space, providing greenery along the street edge and privacy for residents. The community space at ground level has been designed to allow flexibility within its internal spaces and accommodate a range of uses.
